Revit Visibility and Graphic Display Overview

The Visibility/Graphics dialog is the primary tool for managing visibility and graphic display overrides in Revit. Individual element overrides are handled separately in the View-Specific Element Graphics dialog.

If a category’s graphic display has been overridden, the dialog shows a preview.
If not, the cell remains blank, and the category displays according to Object Styles settings.

Creating Purpose-Specific Views

The Visibility/Graphics dialog allows you to control element visibility and graphics per view to suit specific needs, such as:

• Overlay furniture layout on a reflected ceiling plan

• Increase the lineweight of pipes to show a plumbing layout

• Show floor patterns on finish plans

• Hide furniture in a framing plan

• Filter out specific equipment from a view

• Hide a linked model from specific views
